Vintage 1968 Mattel Talking Barbie Doll –– Made in Japan
This is an original 1968 Talking Barbie by Mattel — the glamorous, chatty version of Barbie that could actually speak! Introduced during the height of the Mod era, she features bendable legs, and a pull-string talking mechanism (voice box located in the back). When new, she spoke several phrases such as “I love being a fashion model!” and “Let’s go shopping!” Note: this doll no longer talks and one of her legs comes off, see photos.

• 11½ inches tall
• Pull-string voice feature (no longer functions, common for age)
• Original hair style: brunette with orig bows
