Stipula Ferrari (Prancing Horse) Mark Francesco Baracca Commemorative Fountain Pen

Stipula is a fountain pen manufacturer founded in 1973, known for producing high-quality fountain pens for enthusiasts.

This is the Francesco Baracca Commemorative Fountain Pen, produced by Stipula in 1998 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Francesco Baracca's death. It is a limited edition of 888 pens, in reference to 1888, the year of Francesco Baracca's birth.

The Francesco Baracca model fountain pen is housed in a cylindrical box, which evokes the image of airmail. The cylinder represents the delivery of letters by air, where the cylinder would be flown near the delivery area and dropped from the sky to the waiting delivery person on the ground.

Inside the cylinder, the Baracca commemorative fountain pen is wrapped in a soft, thick protective cloth to protect it. A metal nameplate with the name of Baracca, the sender, is sewn onto the protective cloth.

The most important feature of this fountain pen, the prancing horse (Ferrari) mark, is engraved on both sides of the clip on the cap. On the opposite side, the prancing horse mark used by Francesco Baracca is engraved. The clip is made of sterling silver, further expressing the high level of craftsmanship.

Celluloid and ebonite have long been used as materials for fountain pens. This fountain pen is a model that uses ebonite luxuriously, and it is characterized by the gentle feel of ebonite in the hand. The contrast between ebonite and sterling silver is also attractive, and the nib is "B" (Broad).
