This vintage glass floating flower set includes three unique glass flowers, each with a box of wicks. The flowers are designed by Roberto Niederer and produced for a German company, G.A. Glafey, in Nürnberg. The candle boxes are labeled with "G.A. Glafey Nürnberg" and "Qualität extra fein N° 14." These floating flowers work by using a glass float to hold a wick, burning liquid fuel. The lamps, often called "St. Peter Nacht-Lichte" (St. Peter Night Light), feature a glass bowl filled with water and oil on top, using refined lamp oil like liquid paraffin or the manufacturer's recommendation. The glass flower floats hold a small wick in the center, drawing the oil upward as the fuel for the flame. The water provides a stable base and keeps the glass float level. Also included are delicate glass "bubbles" shown in photos.
