The movies feature The Bride, Beatrix Kiddo, codename Black Mamba, an assassin skilled in martial arts, samurai swords and gun marksmanship. The Bride, played by Uma Thurman, is an indelible kung-fu assassin who sought revenge and claimed what belonged to her over the course of two movies. It was one of the first action film series to feature a female lead with supporting female actors in lethal roles.
