"Infants of Spring" is a rare porcelain Hutschenreuther white gloss figurine by Karl Tutter (famous for his “May Dance” young girl sculpture). Tutter (1883-1969) was born in Austria and studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. He worked for the Royal Bayreuth and Sitzendorf porcelain factories before joining Hutschenreuther in 1922 to assist in the development of a new figure collection.
This figurine depicts three cherubs dancing and playing. Generally, Hutschenreuther from Selb started producing porcelain figurines in 1917 . Their famous Lions Mark, pictured, is a symbol of authenticity and accordingly, quality. This piece in particular is dated as being produced between 1968 and 1970.
