Antique circa 1880’s-1910 Pair
2-Doctors Gladstone Bags made of
Rattan/Seagrass & Leather
w/ Metal clasps & fabric interiors
Both these doctors’ travel/Gladstone bags came
from same estate in Connecticut River Valley CT These lightweight styles of bags rarely survived due to fragile nature of sea grass exterior/fabric interior but these two preserved nicely
I cannot age them exactly, but markings on
clasps reveal 2 companies:Corbin Cabinet & Lock
Co & Worcester Metal Goods Co who were only in
business circa 1885-1910
1 bag still has sheet of paper w/ woman’s
name written in pencil inside-was unable
to find anything, whether she was Dr/owner of bags or what
Sale only for items listed in title-Anything else in

One bag is slightly misshapen from sitting empty
w/ no internal support for a century-other has very old repair on side-see photos
